adidas Officially Welcomes Jeremy Lin #alllin

No longer a rumor, Jeremy Lin is officially part of team adidas.

Feel free to sound off in the comment section below on how you feel, weather or not he deserves a signature or how this may affect his game. How had the better come up as well; adidas acquiring Lin or Lin signing with adidas?

  1. This is a welcome change, particularly for those who would love to see JLin rise in the ranks as a sports icon. I’m sure many of JLin’s followers in Asia will not hate him for this, although some may feel a bit disappointed.

I think Lin deserves a signature shoe. From a marketing perspective, it’s beneficial for Adidas. The company remains relevant in the Asian market, and giving JLin his own signature shoe (Adidas Linsanity 1 anyone?) will further cement Adidas’ relevance in certain parts of Asia, Taiwan for example. I’m just not quite sure about the western hemisphere, though.

From JLin’s standpoint, rocking your own signature shoe certainly means a lot. This is a guy who trains religiously, works very hard, has respectable work ethic, and knows what it truly means to be in the league and stay in the league. At the least, a signature shoe may come to him as a partial affirmation that JLin has already made it far from where he initially used to be.

I’ll be waiting for Adidas to cook something up for JLin. Hopefully, it won’t be a disappointment, especially if they tap the talent of their new designers (we already know who they are).

  2. I love Lin and I like what he’s been doing this season so far. but I don’t think Lin will receive his own signature anytime soon, because look at the Adidas’ players at the guard position, they have Lillard, Rubio, DRose, John Wall, and Jrue Holiday. Everyone from the list is more stable than Lin(except Rubio), plus Damian Lillard is putting up crazy numbers this season and just won the ROTY last season, he still hasn’t gotten his own signature shoe yet, so I don’t think Lin will get his. Of course, it’s Adidas, they probably will have like an exclusive team model for Lin due to his popularity in Asia and other areas. It all comes down to money and what not.

    1. does not matter lol, his fans in taiwan n china particularly will buy his shoes will not give a damn abt other ppl shoes.

  3. maybe adidas can make an asia exclusive model for him? he’s a solid player, but like bob said, adidas guards roster is already great and all those guys are (viewed as) better players than jeremy. the signing is the first step for adidas to help spread out into the world, but i believe nike/jordan made a larger impact when they did tours/camps all over asia. i believing having your stars go out there and meet/greet the people is a much better way to expand/get recognized than to just sign a person and not do anything for the people/buyers/consumers/fans.

  4. Adidas isn’t some little company that gives signature shoes to anyone that signs with them… Signature shoes should be given to star players, and Lin hasn’t even secured a starting spot…

  5. Has anyone seem the specifics of the deal yet, once those come out then we will basically what is going to happen between the two. But the all lin hashtag is cool cause it is kindof a three way meaning (all in, all line and the three l’s pit the three stripes into the mix) very dope.

  6. I think he’ll just be getting PE’s. I understand having a market in Asia and the money, but Nike would’ve done it when he was signed with them, and it was during the Linsanity days. Adidas is a big brand in Asia don’t get me wrong, but Asia has Li-ning,etc. Had Li-ning signed Lin, that would’ve been a different story(Li-ning with a linning shoe!).

  7. I think Lillard should get a sig shoe before Lin does. Who knows, I mean Lin is so recognizable. When he was a Knick during Linsanity, EVERYBODY was watching HIM, even non-basketball fans. I would buy Lin sig shoe if NW performance reviewed it and approved it.

  8. Sure DLil is a better player and deserves his own shoe first but Adidas is in the business of selling shoes. Their decisions will be based on who will sell the most shoes. Lin’s underdog story is ready made for marketing. Lin has a much bigger fan base of casual and non basketball fans who will buy his shoes.
