The adidas NMD TS1 ‘GORE-TEX’ Has a Release Date

Don’t be surprised if the NMD TS1 ‘GORE-TEX’ is a limited release.

adidas’ Primeknit is one our favorite uppers on the market today; it combines comfort and durability in a knit package. However, like all knit uppers, the main enemy is rain because it is able to seep right through the open spaces in the weave.

In an effort to combat this, adidas has teamed up with GORE-TEX, a company renowned for it’s waterproof and windproof products. GORE-TEX products use a microporous structure membrane that goes underneath a laminate in order to keep wind and water from getting into the inner lining.

The sneaker of choice for this collaboration? The NMD TS1. The shoe differs from other versions of the NMD line in that it sports a Velcro tongue flap that covers the entire lacing system. The tooling of the sneaker remains consistent with the other NMDs as there is a black Boost midsole to complete the monochromatic ensemble.

The adidas NMD TS1 ‘GORE-TEX’ is set to release on September 6, according to leaker US 11. No word yet on price or its availability but expect it to be available on adidas.com and at select adidas retailers. As always, keep it locked to WearTesters for any updates concerning this and other upcoming adidas silhouettes.

  1. I’ve always wanted a boost shoe that would do well in the rain. Too bad they used the NMD midsole, though. Its not the best example of boost. I’d like to see a gore-tex upper on an ultraboost, EQT, or supernova midsole, with that all-terain traction. And keep the boost black, because white boost ain’t gonna be white for long in the rain.
