The adidas Light Em Up 2.0 is Available Now

adidas Light Em Up 2 17

With the success of the adidas Lillard 2, it’s only right for the Three Stripes to continue using its super comfortable Bounce technology on another basketball shoe. This latest model is the adidas Light Em Up 2. In case you weren’t sure about Bounce technology, you can check the performance reviews by Nightwing and Duke4005 and see what they thought of it. In the meantime, let’s get a glimpse at the adidas Light Em Up 2.

The adidas Light Em Up 2 not only features Bounce technology, it also utilize a three-dimensional TPU midsole structure made of foam in the form of Bounce to assist in absorbing impact. The upper is a textile and synthetic breathable mesh lining for proper ventilation along with multi-directional herringbone traction down below.

As far as we can see, that traction looks like it will perform very well on court. The shoe is slightly a higher-cut, like a mid-top compared to the Lillard 2, but that shouldn’t take away from it’s performance. And of course, adidas states that these shoes are a light man’s basketball shoe built for speed and agility. Let us know what you think in the comment section.

It seems like adidas will slowly come out with more colorways of the adidas Light Em Up 2 soon. In the meantime, the adidas Light Em Up 2 is out now in three core colorways for an amazing price of only $80 currently.

    1. And it’s better than the bounce on the Rose 773 IV. I have both the 773 and the Light’em up 2 and I think the forefoot bounce is thicker on the Light’em ups and a lil bit softer.

  1. This has been one of my most anticipated shoes for the past few weeks. Really want to give it a shot. Just hoping I can try it on in person first.

  2. we still don’t know if the bounce is full-length or not. If it is full length and performed well.. adidas is killing it again lol.
I personally thought that this shoe should be (or similar to) a crazyquick’s line.. but it is nice if adidas have another good shoe line coming up so have more options.

  3. Look quite nice but too much adidas (the three stripes on th heel)

80usd looks like a steal though. Would be good to see comparison boost vs bounce vs jetlon vs micro g

    Cheers

  4. I’ve had these in store for a while, Fit and comfort of the tongue will be an issue. Extremely hard tongue, hard to flex around forefoot as well.

  5. yes, these have me jonesin’ for sure. They look aight. If any one has been to the Adidas outlet there is a model on the wall that has a serious full length bounce midsole. super comfy – they are going for 59.99 but I am waiting for that to drop. Blue orange and whit midsole.

    1. Actually the burrito-tongue isn’t a problem when you know your size, if you buy your shoes too large, or too small though, the wrap, won’t wrap, but stand, or stretch around your foot(which is when it becomes a problem).

Also these wrap INwards, which is perfectly alright, the Curry 2.5 wraps OUTward, which can create a pressure point on a main-artery in your foot(so it can put your feet to sleep if you don’t get the fit right).

      1. Just heard the burrito style tongue issue with the Zoom Hyperquickness. But this Light Em Up 2 is in my list now. Appreciate your time for this info, thank you.

  6. looks like the same set up as the most recent rose 773, which i think had heel bounce and nothing in the forefoot

    1. Nope, full-length on both, the Rose 773 has a lot of extra rigidity in the uppers though, which makes it harder to activate the forefoot(the structure resists proper flex, so you need to go hard enough, or you won’t feel it), these are much softer in the uppers, which allows a much bouncier, bounce.

  7. hope nightwing will review this one or someone else here in weartesters. This is a very steal price here in asia.

  8. I bought these for my son and they do need break in time. The upper starts out stiff and the shoe feels clunky for the first couple of wears. After that they feel very good on foot. He loves them now. The shoe comes with a cheap EVA insole. A simple swap (used Brandblack insole) and they feel real nice! The sneaker is $80!!!! Bounce feels full length. He gives the Light em up 2 a 4.25/5.

    1. Since it’s a one fit bootie like fit, it’s always a slight break-in time. As for trying on the shoe, it’s best to try on instore if and when available at your location. But for $80 bucks, it’s a great price for a decent basketball shoe. Thanks for the info and thanks for the support!

  9. $60-65 already. Seems like a good deal on a potential outdoor shoe, however, they appear to be pretty narrow. no good for me.

    1. So if you didn’t review something and someone else did, you don’t want to acknowledge that? Get over yourself. Lol

  10. The Bounce cushioning is AWESOME!!!!!
The rest of the shoe…disappointing. The width is great for this wide-footer, but as with most of the Adidas shoes this season (Crazy Quick 3, Dual Threat BB and the Prime Knit) that I’ve played in…TOO MUCH heel slippage!!! The burrito tongue on this model makes it almost impossible to get a lock-down fit. Great bounce, but not much else.

  11. I want to know if the shoes are going to get wider in time.I have them for about 2 days and they are kinda incomfortable at the middle of the foot.Someone else having this problem?

    1. The material eventually expands unless you bought a size too small.
I would stuff paper along the midfoot area overnight and let it continue to sit. Also consider wearing casually to wear in the material.
