adidas pays tribute to our nation’s active duty members and veterans with the launch of the ‘Young Patriot’ pack that features both uniforms and cleats. Using a special canvas inspired from U.S. military footwear and uniforms, the theme for this pack blends classic stars and stripes with a black and white color palette.
The release of this pack gives us two new performance cleats, the adizero 5-Star 6.0 x KEVLAR and the FREAK x KEVLAR. Both of these models implement an all-new texturized printing technique, which is highlighted with a graphic that starts with a black base at the heel and melts into flowing stars and stripes. The design of these new performance cleats take cues from the shock waves and vapor trails created by the military’s fastest airplanes.
The adizero Star 6.0 x KEVLAR claims to be lighter than any competitor’s cleat and features military-inspired canvas that is flexible and light, which reduces weight without sacrificing stability. This is a low cut model and is reinforced with a KEVLAR plate.
The FREAK x KEVLAR is a mid-cut cleat that also features the canvas that is inspired by military footwear and uniforms. This shoe aims to give mid-cut support with a low-cut feel, and it also makes use of the same KEVLAR plate.
On top of these new sneaker releases, adidas and the University of Louisville will honor our nation’s active duty members and veterans by donning the ‘Young Patriot’ special edition uniform and cleats for their game against Wake Forest this Saturday, November 12. These uniforms continue the theme that is presented in the rest of the ‘Young Patriot’ pack.
