I realize the adidas Energy Boost is a running/ training sneaker but I feel it’s important to show what makes the shoe and tech so special – for future basketball sneaker related reasons.
Thanks to Long-7, they’ve deconstructed yet another pair of sneakers so that we can see the inner workings that go into the products we purchase. I’ve personally used these for running and the foam is amazing… individual TPU pellets expanded into light and airy balls then packed together into the form of a midsole… pure genius.
Take a look at the images after the jump and leave your thoughts on adidas transitioning Boost to the hoop category – you’ll hear my thoughts on the subject very soon.
Wow that’s a thick styrofoam lol. I think people will finally learn to appreciate Adidas for this. That foam might take long before it sinks out which is a big plus to foam cushion.
to be honest, it does indeed look like or actually is styrofoam. anyway, it doesn’t matter as long as it works and something innovative for once. and of course, it should be awesome.
NW, what’s the feeling of the BOOST? heard they have record high energy return but thats just numbers talking…
bball boost better be full length otherwise not buying.
Its awesome. Cant really say much more to describe it. http://youtu.be/JfzUU8N90J4 this is a video I did – not a serious one – after using them and what I thought about it.
thanks for the post nightwing! been waiting for this. do you think this will last longer than lunar foam?
they should put it in basketball shoes asap..adidas has been redundant with their tech lately except for the adiquick..
I cant believe someone did this. I see the value w/ nike products sometimes not containing the techs they claim. but this is crazy, the sole is the tech. no reason to go cutting into it
Kind of breaks my heart (lol) seeing this kind of pics, but I do think it IS best to see what tech exists in our shoes these days.
