adidas & Derrick Rose Launch ‘D Rose 3’ Signature Shoe & Collection

The time has finally arrived; adidas officially unveils the Rose 3 and the signature collection that will coincide with the footwear lineup.

I can’t wait until October 4th… I need the Home colorway… I may double up just so I can wear one casually – since I don’t wear the shoes I play in anywhere but the court.

Hit the jump for tons of information about the Rose Collection along with images galore!

“The D Rose 3 signature collection is special to me because I worked side-by-side with adidas on everything from materials to fit to colors to make it the best we’ve done yet,” said Rose. “I love the new logo that calls out the most important things to me: my family, basketball and the city of Chicago.”

Rose’s new signature shoes feature adidas’ most innovative performance features, premium and rich style elements and the D Rose logo which was developed in close partnership with the Chicago Bulls point guard and 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player. The D Rose signature apparel collection features premium materials, textures and colors chosen by Rose. They represent his unique and understated style while paying homage to his hometown of Chicago. The collection includes jackets, hoodies, tees, shorts, pants, hats and socks to hook up with each colorway of the shoe.

“The D Rose signature collection continues our mission to work closely with Derrick to create the best performing products in the world that are built specifically for his electrifying style of play,” said Lawrence Norman, vice president, adidas global basketball. “Launching the new D Rose logo is a historic moment for our partnership. The premium and personal style and high performance elements of this collection represent the future of our product direction with Derrick Rose.”

The new D Rose logo features three petals that revolve around the letter “D” and number “1” in the center. The personal meaning behind the logo is twofold. First, each petal is unique and represents Rose’s fast, creative drives to the basket, which he honed with physical play on the courts of Murray Park in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago. The logo also pays homage to his family – with mother Brenda in the center of the Rose and his three brothers Reggie, Allan and Dwayne as the petals – who guided him from that neighborhood to NBA superstardom.

The D Rose 3 is an all-new silhouette with synthetic and nubuck leather to deliver a clean and stylish off-court look. The oversized tongue has a reflective D Rose logo to illuminate and pop on and off the court. Chicago call-outs on the inside of the tongue portray the essence of Rose’s background, including an illustration of his family tree and the landmark of 73rd and Paulina in the Englewood neighborhood where he grew up. Each colorway of the D Rose 3 will feature special, personal graphics on the inside of the tongue, colors and materials to give fans details about his life.

adidas designers worked closely with Rose to develop a shoe molded specifically for his foot and style of play, which involves extreme changes in direction, acceleration and explosiveness. This personal fit ensures minimal foot movement and maximum efficiency, comfort and control to make one of the most agile and quick players in the league even faster and more elusive.

The upper features a diamond cut-out pattern providing a functional blend of breathability and support. The three stripes are again featured on the back of the shoe to represent Rose’s speed, and they now wrap around the outsole so opponents will see them not only when he drives past them, but also goes over them.

The D Rose 3 launches at adidas.com, Foot Locker, Eastbay, Finish Line and other retailers nationwide on October 4 for $160 in away (black/white/red) and home (grey/black/red) colorways and will roll out in seven additional colors through the end of the year.

The D Rose signature collection is available October 4 and ranged from $15 to $80.

  1. Cant wait to see the performance on these! Btw r u gonna review the hyperposite at all? Cuz they look really beasty on court.

  2. the perforations remind me of the Jordan Super Fly 😛 Shape of the shoe overall reminds me of an UA shoe. Can’t wait adidas either way, super narrow fit half the time

  3. Do you know if the upper is leather or synthetic? SoleCollector says the home colorway is made of nubuck and that the away colorway is premium leather. They both look kinda synthetic to me though.

  4. I’ve loved Derrick’s shoes in the past but I was really disappointed by the big price jump. These look amazing but I really don’t want to pay thy much of my money. Love Adidas and Derrick Rose, but not the price tag.

  5. Can’t wait, I know the price jump sux but then agin they are still cheaper than most Nikes, and look better than Durant’s V series… anyway I know I’m grabbing these!
