adidas D Lillard 2 | Detailed Look and Review

  1. adidas and Damian Lillard are back with their second installment of the D Lillard line, and they freaking crushed it.

Not a penny was increased between the D Lillard 1 and D Lillard 2, yet tech and material upgrades are abundant. This was a shoe I was already excited about, but after trying them on and getting them in-hand they might be one of my new favorite on-court options. Especially for their price point.

Check out the detailed look and review below, and stay tuned for their upcoming performance review in the coming weeks.

  1. dude, how soft is the outsole? are they good for outdoors? cause that traction is no where near indoor action (on not squeaky clean courts)

    1. Yo I tried on the Rose 773 IV that has “bounce” through the midsole and just pushing my heal through it was light years better than the D1 where the D1 had that cored out heal of adiacrap+ That shoe has segmented Hbone and come in rubber options on team cw. In NDUB IG homie already called out “needing to wipe” so just hearing that off jump street can be concerning knowing that possibly wiping between every possession possibly would be annoying as all hell. I’m calling out the 773 because having been an out door concrete baller though out my 20’s I would have loved to been able to play in a midsole like that – I would compare the heal cushion to the Jordan 14.5 which is amazing shoe and that shoe also has a forefoot zoom unit but a Fat lunar heal and bother the D2 and 773 IV have fat heals. Food for thought – #toomuchtimeonmyhands

    1. Just watching the vid and having owned the Jwall 1 “paisley” colorway knitted upper these look damn similar and is much different than prime knit – I would call prime knit a much better option but maybe didn’t work with the overall set up

  2. i typically use ushers slide glide to lose my defenders so this shoe is for me.

Other than traction this shoe looks good and seems to be a solid performer

  3. That IG comment got me looking for my single sequence glitter glove, gonna go on stage like MJ (RIP king of pop) and go moonwalking. So like WEEZER #sayitaintso

  4. Based on this interview, bounce is dual density:

Nice Kicks: One of the things I really liked about the D Lillard 1 was how soft the adiPrene felt. The D Lillard 2, conversely, introduces Bounce cushioning. What can you tell our readers about that?

Brian Foresta: We felt exactly the same way about that adiPrene bottom on that shoe. What’s cool about Bounce is it has two different softnesses of foam. The center of the shoe is actually really soft but it has a very high rebound rate so it gives you that really quick energy return. But then on the sidewall on the side of the shoe, we can stiffen that foam up so that it prevents blow over and roll over. If you’re coming off a pick and you put a lot of pressure on the outside of the shoe, it doesn’t give. It’s a lot like adiPrene, but it’s a step up. Bounce is in other categories, but basketball is the only category where we use the two different foam compounds to fine tune it.

  5. hmm so looks like they will have at least 2 versions of the D.Lillard 2 – this one and the all star version (prime knit + boost). Can’t wait!

  6. really excited about these, i just played in the d lillard 1 again just now, and i love those, these ones look like they’re going to be exponentially better, just waiting for the black and red joints to drop in february before i make these mine

  7. These can be the best at this price level, or even at price level that below 140 I guess. Dame has a really good start both on his career and his shoe models!

  8. Just got these and been itching to play in them nightwing summed it up real well, the traction on these is much better than I expected while just shooting around and doing drills. Still need to wipe a lot but the
traction won’t let you down (think kobe 8/crazy light boost level traction but you need to wipe a lil more. As of right now I don’t think I’ve seen a shoe with this high of performance and materials for such a low price in a long time.
