The adidas Crazy Explosive Deconstructed

adidas crazy explosive deconstructed 7

The good people over at fastpass finally have a slice and dice of a shoe we’ve been wanting to see: the brand new adidas Crazy Explosive. Let’s have a look at the Crazy Explosive deconstructed.

fastpass has taken apart the ‘Core Black’ colorway of the Crazy Explosive in order to shoe what lies beneath the Primeknit and Geofit bootie. We were looking forward to what the Three Stripes brand has thrown into one of the most comfortable basketball shoes on the market today. From the lovely usage of Primeknit material on the upper all the way down to the comfortable Boost technology and even the infinity-shaped torsion plate, adidas included all you could ask for in a basketball shoe.

This latest deconstruction even compares the awesome adidas D Rose 7 to the Crazy Explosive and you’d be surprised to see the differences (second page of this post). Needless to say, we’re quite impressed — what’s advertised is included, and if you read the Crazy Explosive performance review, you’d know that this shoe means business.

Any thoughts on the adidas Crazy Explosive deconstructed? Anything in particular catch your eye? How do like the size of that Boost cushion? Let us know what you think in the comment section.

  1. I wish they would put boost in my dress shoes(rock hard) lol. Boost is my fav cushion. At #2 I’ll put unlock zoom an Jetlon(JC2) tie.

  2. Looks like the Crazy Explosive has more boost compared to the D Rose 7, based on the pics of page 2, and I like how awesome Adidas is right now,

It would be cool to have BOOST insoles you can buy, those would beat most of the insoles in the market.

  3. Still torn on what to get out of the Rose 7 and Crazy Explosive. My dream scenario is that a prime knit version of each in a colorway that I like is available on discount for under $100 in 6 months or so, and I can get both! Hopefully my Rose 6 prime knits hold up until then.

  4. It looks like they both have a comparable amount of boost, yet they say you can feel the Explosive’s forefoot boost better. This simply may be due to the lowered outsole on the medial forefoot side, allowing the boost to expand.

I understand that they were trying to give more court feel to the Crazylight and the Rose 7, but I think they went a bit too far. the forefoot boost on those may as well be phylon since you can hardly feel it. They should’ve let you feel it a bit more, at least on the Crazylight(Rose probably likes the hard forefoot, knowing his game). Maybe they could bring back the stableframe setup on the Rose 6 for a future shoe- that seems to free it up nicely.
