Once again, it’s on!! Thank you, FastPass, for cutting up the Crazy Explosive 2017 Primeknit and letting us see the results.
Here, the technology is pretty much on display — even the infinity shank — but seeing it taken apart is just pretty darn cool. Also cool is that FastPass went the extra mile and compared the CE2016 to the 2017 and compared Boost to Nike’s new React cushioning. Thank you for that, because comparisons are bound to be made, as they should, since the Explosive 2016 was on all top performers lists for last season (like ours here and here).
The forefoot was a bit of an issue last year; some felt the Boost was too thin in the forefoot (not us), so luckily the 2017 is a little thicker in the pebbles. The weave of the knit appears to be a little tighter, especially across the toebox, which should help with containment. The outsole is the same, and was the major complaint of the CE2016 — not that the traction was bad, it just wore out really quickly, especially outdoors.
The Crazy Explosive 2017 Primeknit has already hit retailers overseas and is scheduled to release here in the U.S. later this month — on July 27 — for a price of $150.
As always, let us know below if you are waiting, like us, to get these on-feet.
