A Detailed Look at the Air Jordan 17+ ‘Copper’ Retro

Air Jordan 17 'Copper'

The Air Jordan 17+ ‘Copper’ is returning this year, and this is the first official retro we have seen of the Air Jordan 17 or Air Jordan 17+ (except the Countdown Pack version from 2008). Today, we get a look at what we may be receiving from Jordan Brand later in 2016.

The Air Jordan 17 is a fan favorite model after the Air Jordan 14, but it isn’t the type of model that will stir up hype like an Air Jordan 11 release would. The Air Jordan 17+ is slightly different from the regular Air Jordan 17; it features no lace guard and a croc/snake embossed leather along the heel portion of the upper.

Seen below is the Air Jordan 17+ ‘Copper’, retroing for the first time since its original release in 2002. A white leather upper constructs the shoe, with hits of black along the croc/snake embossed heel, a black midsole, black tongue, and black midfoot shank. Copper accents the eyelets and the iconic Air Jordan 17 heel as well. Finally, a few hits of blue can be spotted on the lace lock and traction pattern of the shoe.

Tech specs for the seventeenth Air Jordan include herringbone traction, an Air unit housed within a TPU heel cage, and a Zoom unit embedded in the forefoot. Various materials are used depending on the colorway of the shoe (in this case, leather is used). If you’d like to know more about their performance, check out the Air Jordan 17 performance review.

The Air Jordan 17+ ‘Copper’ is expected to return on April 9, 2016, for a rumored retail price of $250. Stay tuned to WearTesters.com for any future info regarding the release of the Air Jordan 17+ ‘Copper’ and make sure to come back for all your performance needs.

  1. I never liked them (they always felt like old mans shoes and the design was less than dynamic) – i think the last model from”retro” line is xvi with the exception of xv (which i had and they were crap).

Pricing seems also mental: 250 for this?

  2. $250 is indeed ridiculous. Honestly a dope retro, more so if properly remastered…hell even Wizards Jordan was admirable in his own right, but come on. It’s really not as defining as the 14.
