A Detailed Look and Review of the Under Armour Curry 6 ‘Fox Theater’

The Under Armour Curry 6 will debut in the ‘Fox Theater’ colorway on January 4 for $130.

We were fortunate enough to have been invited to the UA Curry 6 unveil held at the Golden State Warriors practice facility.

While at the event we were shown multiple colorways of the shoe that we’re unable to discuss or share as they’re under embargo. What I will say is that the shoe looks great in all the colorways shown and the themes behind them are for Oakland and The Bay. Being a Bay Area native, its a special thing to have a signature athlete that releases shoes with themes so close to home. It must be one of the driving factors that instills a sense of die-hard loyalty towards a player and the hometown. I can see why LA fans are Kobe die-hards or how special Chicago natives must have felt seeing an L Train edition of the D Rose.

HOVR cushion is used full length in the Curry 6 and feels like a great blend of court feel and cushion — unlike the running version that is pure cushioned under-foot goodness. The built is knit while the traction was extremely tacky — but that was on the Warriors practice court so take that with a grain of salt until I can play in them on my usual courts.

The price has not changed at all, something I love and feel goes overlooked a bit, while the tech has been upgraded and updated. It’s the most premium feeling Curry in the line and the first with this type of cushion implemented.

I hope you enjoy the detailed look and review. Stay tuned for updates on future releases as well as the performance review in the coming weeks.

  1. Ive never even considered a curry before cuz i need some cushioning, but this one im very intrigued by. Full length hovr is a plus, and I also love flex grooves in the outsole. That is a really underrated aspect of a shoe. it really allows the forefoot to feel natural on the court, especially in the adidas crazyquick a few years ago. These look pretty good as well, probably the best looking curry to me.

  2. Great review as always NW. Definitely copping. Have never really considered purchasing any of the Curry sigs due to the lack of cushioning but this one sounds promising. I am definitely a fan of the price point given that I almost exclusively hoop in the Kobe 360s.

  3. After playing in multiple pairs of the 1s and 2s I skipped the 3-5s. I’m excited try these out and see if the full length HOVR works for me.

  4. Like the person above, I have & love the 1s, play in multiple color ways. But now that I’m 35, the knees aren’t as cooperative. These 6s will help! P.S. they sure look a lot like the Kobe ADs…
