5 Tips For Starting A Sneaker Review Youtube Channel

For those of you who wish to – or maybe already have – start a YouTube Channel reviewing sneakers, here are some really great tips from fellow YouTuber, TBlake.

He gives off 5 tips that I personally think are helpful when you are on the outside looking in. I received emails on a daily basis from those who wish to start a Channel and the first thing they say is that they want to start a Channel and get free shoes… that is the wrong way to go about it.

I will give you one additional piece of advice after the jump – from my perspective – and you can also view the video after the jump as well. As usual, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions down below in the comment section.

My personal piece of advice… if you are not 110% passionate about what you are doing then you will not succeed. The one thing that all ‘successful’ YouTubers have in common is this; we’ve all been making these videos BEFORE it earned us any revenue. Everything we did was based off of passion and a real love for whatever our content was about. The people that are just in this for money and free stuff will fail, simple as that. I’m not saying this to be mean or rude but I am being up front and honest. This is not just some job that we all do… this is something we all have worked on for so long that it just so happened to become a job. Since we all loved what we did without getting paid, we love it even more now that we are. Money was never the reason for starting a Channel and if it’s your main reason, then you better be damn good at creating videos otherwise you are wasting your time. If you don’t love what you do… it will show.

  1. That is a great video – in it he lists all the basics that anyone who wants to push anything should do regardless if they are doing shoe reviews, skills tutorials, events, you name it.

The other thing that is also missed (if people want to attract business) is how you engage and present yourself. I remember seeing a review (on here in fact) of a reviewer that kept dropping the “N” bomb and “homo” every other sentence. The comments he received were very polarizing and unfortunately even though he had a passion for his review he might have missed an opportunity to gain a larger subscription base had he cleaned up the language a little bit.

I know I say this all the time but I’m still stunned at how much information guys like Nightwing put out on a consistent basis that is done without sounding condescending or elitist that draws the viewer back regularly.

Guys like these have longevity for a reason and I hope they continue on with their work!

    1. Very good points. I saw that review and shut it off after just a minute or so. I curse too and I don’t mind it sometimes but there is a time and a place. There is also a need for professionalism when trying to draw a wide audience. This is the reason why some people will never progress. They just don’t really get it.
