Why The Air Jordan 1 Still Matters

Russ Bengtson has been in the game – the shoe game – longer than anyone I know. Not saying you’re old, Russ…just saying.

With all the hype and hoopla surrounding the “remastered” Air Jordan line, Russ brings things back to basics and gives us his take on why the Air Jordan 1 still matters and more importantly, why the “remastered” Chicago edition is a must-have. Even the shoe’s designer, Peter Moore, makes an appearance and discusses his thoughts on how the AJ1 has become Jordan Brand’s Chuck Taylor All-Star.

  1. Was Jordan wearing the Air Jordan 1 Sample when he scored 63 on Boston? If so that would be the real story and a rare find. Some photo’s of the game suggest he was wearing the AJ1 with the AJ2 midsole. Any info? I been looking at photo’s all morning. adiMackj…

  2. The AJ1 Jordan was wearing against Boston when he scored 63 was not the AJ 1.5. The Boston AJ1 shoe had a dunk bottom. There is a game in which Jordan played against the Hawks in AJ 1.5.
