The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available

Under Armour just released their 4th rendition of the Torch. This year’s version has been completely redesigned.

I haven’t played in a Torch model since the original due to the fact that they haven’t changed much between the three models they’ve had. These on the other hand are brand new and affordable. The outsole/traction looks amazing. Cushion is full length Micro G. A synthetic upper is used…did I mention they’re affordable? Retail is only $95. Show me another brand giving you full length cushion and awesome (hopefully) traction for $95. Yeah, there isn’t one.

If you were interested in grabbing a pair, three colorways are currently available at UA.comThe Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 1 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 2 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 3 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 4 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 5 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 6 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 7 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 8 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 9 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 10 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 11 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 12 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 13 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 14 The Under Armour Micro G Torch 4 Is Now Available 15

  1. I had the Torch2 and the traction was so bad I returned them. Everything else was pretty good. Nice fit. MicroG! These Torch 4 might be worth a try… Gotta wear out my Currys first! LOL!

  2. These are a must for me at some point. Talk about value… man…

The foam molded back half intrigues me too, curious how the comfort is here.

  3. For me the KB mentality gives great traction and full length cushion. (plus drops ins>regular for me). But I think that was $105 and the upper looks better here. Hopefully this is great

    1. It’s out now on east bay and other sites like champs sports. I just purchased some today. I can’t wait until they get to me.

      1. Hey Trezz, I didn’t know they’re still releasing anymore pairs of the Clutchfit Drive 1 lows? Are these new colorways?

Since we’re on the subject of low top UA Basketball shoes, I just got my UA Curry One lows Black and Silver colorway that I ordered directly from UA. They took a couple of weeks to get here, but I think they were worth the wait. So far I really like the Charged cushioning.

As for the CFD 1 lows, I also wanted to get a pair of them months ago, but gave up because they didn’t seem to release any colorways that I was interested in. The few colorways that they did release to the general public earlier in the year were trash if you ask me. Then the Curry One lows released, so I thought that might be it for the CFD 1 lows and that they were going to be shelving them. I’m actually surprised if they’re releasing new colorways of the CFD 1 lows, but that’s not a bad thing at all.

Do you have the CFD 1 mid tops? If so, tell me how they compare to the lows when you get the lows.

  4. The Torch 4’s traction looks promising. For the outdoors I actually prefer the Torch 3 over the CFD.

  5. Finally, finally they changed the tooling on these. I think the first 3 Torch models used the exact same tooling.

These look awesome for a budget model. I might grab a pair for outdoor play.

  6. I would consider going back and playing in the Torch 2 for sure and potentially the Torch 3. Same tooling but a different experience. The first ones had perhaps the most comfortable upper but the uppers on the second two performed better, particularly the Torch 2 which was more durable (leather) and also had INCREDIBLE ankle support. Best lockdown on a shoe I have ever felt, even better than CompFit models such as the Juke and Juke 2.

These seem interesting, traction should be like the Curry 2 which I liked. The nubby outsole on the first three Torch models wore down quickly outdoors so hopefully that isn’t an issue here. I am eager to see how these perform with “just” the Micro G since the Curry had the Charged foam as well. I will definitely grab a pair of these off rack at Marshall’s when the time comes.

    1. Have you actually seen the Curry 2s in person, or are you just referring to photos of the Curry 2s traction? It kind of sounds like you’ve seen them up close.

  7. I have the Torch 3 and i prefer it to my Hyperrev 2015. Solid traction, confortable, holds my ankle quite well (even despite i suffered a partial tear of my ankle ligament on then, but it was a freak accident), great fit on my duck-wide foot…

  8. Just saw these recently. Outsole features deep full length herringbone. Looks great for outdoor and indoor hoops

  9. I just tried a pair on the court. They are actually great shoes overall. No break in needed. The support is good and kept my feet in place. Traction is great on indoor gym. I would say that the MicroG feel is not as plush as the Clutchfit 1 and could have used more cushion on the heel. Clutchfit 1s also hug your feet better. But am happy with these shoes. Way better than the Curry 2s which have no real support and will kill your feet with harder Charged foam. I also like these shoes better than Rocket and Micro G Pro.
