February is almost always an excellent month for kicks. FILA is making this month dope with its upcoming FILA MB ‘Royalty’.
This new ‘Royalty’ colorway of the recently resurrected MB, formerly Jamal Mashburn’s signature, sits atop a gum outsole. I thought I’d mention that first because a FILA MB with a gum outsole is simply “Winner winner, chicken dinner” for me. According to FILA, this MB should feature an upper with “top notch” suede rather than the usual FILA Buck — which isn’t great, quality wise. Judging from the photos, the tongue should still be mesh.
Accenting on the FILA MB ‘Royalty’ is done in what looks to be gold, hitting the heel, tongue patch, and base of the tongue. Of course, the white midsole highlights the Nightmare Before Christmas-like spirals. Finally, these should come with two sets of laces: a pink pair, and a blue pair that matches the upper. FILA has not discussed a theme behind this colorway yet.
The FILA MB ‘Royalty’ drops this Friday, February 6, for $100. Will you be copping?
