Reebok JJ Watt I ‘Preseason Training’

jjwatt 6

By now, NFL training camps are in full swing and the exhibition season is almost here. We the fans can witness whether our favorite players busted butt over the off-season or lived fat and happy on their stacks of bills.

One player you have no need to question is JJ Watt, the cyborg defensive lineman of the Houston Texans. Known for his freakish athleticism for the size (6’5″, 290 pounds with a 4.6 40 yard dash) — and if you don’t know, watch his box jump videos — JJ is also very involved with the community and kids organizations around the Houston area.

All that said, it only made sense for Reebok to slide him a signature trainer, both because of marketability and the workouts. We first showed you the JJ Watt 1 a few weeks back (right here if you missed it) in white and red, and the shoe was very well received at retail. Now, we get the navy colorway, lined out in white and red trim, to match that Texans gear.

Tech specs are the same, but if you don’t want to read the other post, here goes:

The JJ I provides the athlete who wears it with ultimate heel to toe stability. The raised topline midsole keeps the foot locked in on top of the platform for increased support, while the outsole provides multidirectional traction for strong, dynamic grip during the most intense agility workouts.

In the mid-foot, FlexCage technology, a substructure cage with webbing tie-downs integrated into the upper, provides the lock-down feel without sacrificing agility and responsiveness, ensuring maximum transition of power. A second cage is integrated into the toe for added protection during jumping and pushing exercises.

The JJ I also introduces Reebok Liquid Foam technology for the first time, which allows for rapid reaction to every impact.

The Watt 1 in navy will be available at midnight August 5 (tonight) for $99 at Academy Sports Stores and Reebok.com

  1. I hope Reebok starts implementing Liquid Foam in more of there shoes. I’m tired of there rock hard DMX foam. These JJ trainers look really good.
