Performance Teaser: Nike Hyperdunk 2013 Pt. 2

I’ve always appreciated the Hyperdunk but it wasn’t until the Hyperdunk 2012 that I truly liked a pair on-court & it wasn’t until 2013 that I truly loved a pair on-court.

Hyperfuse sure has come a long way.

The Nike Hyperenforcer’s claim to fame was the combination of two of Nike’s favorite technologies; Hyperfuse and Flywire. Not only does the Nike Hyperdunk 2013 combined both technologies but it also does it better than before.

The Hyperfuse is softer but just as durable. Those little fingers featured as the lacing system of the Hyperenforcer have been updated and work better than ever as more mesh and less plastic is used. In my opinion, these are pretty significant upgrades with very little effort that make a big impact.

This is the most Guard oriented Hyperdunk that we’ve had since the original in 2008. Flex grooves are abundant and the upper and outsole work in tandem with one another. These aren’t flexible to the point where you feel like you‘re wearing a minimalist shoe but they are flexible enough to where court feel and maneuverability are far greater than past renditions. In a nutshell… they offer the perfect blend of maneuverability and support.

Like I said above, I’ve always appreciate the Hyperdunk but this is the first time I’ve loved the Hyperdunk.

      1. I never said you didn’t buy it. I said “send” because it’s not in stores yet therefor you must have ordered it.

  1. Hey Nightwing. This is from left field but I think it would be great if you could make a video that talks a little about how you fit this basketball shoe enthusiast / reviewer hobby into your “normal life” I think there’s a lot of misconceptions. I’ve heard yo say on accasion that you have a normal life with a real job, but I think having it condensed in one video could get rid of some misconceptions and even inspire people who think you cant do what you do and have a “normal life” Thanks. And your reviews along with kick genius reviews are the only ones I watch on YouTube!

  2. Every time I see that traction I stare at it n for some reason it trips me out, the herringbone looks like it does an amazing job. I’m just not liking the design on the heel area, but maybe it will grow on me. Looks like we might have a new top shoe for 2013.

  3. STOP IT..STAHP IT…CEASE FIRE.
These kicks have my thirsty kind sir….THIRSTY!!!!!!!!

I’m tripping and headbutting any of you in line at ford city in Chicago for these.

  4. I was on the fence about these from the leaked pics. Now im really starting to like them.
Just wished the forefoot was zoom air instead and it would be another on my to buy list.

    1. Actually.. who am I kiddin… its on my to buy list =_=”
Nightwing you need to stop doing this to my wallet.

    1. a lot of people do tend to land on their heel instead of the midfoot/balls of their feet esp when running as opposed to jumping. perhaps it somehow allows for increased durability/added cushion in the heel. just a guess though.

does the heel even feel any noticeably different or it just the way it looks nw?

      1. I think it is just aesthetics. landing on your heel has nothing to do with the back heel design and you’ll be fine without it. anyway, if you will remove the back heel part, just look at what the shoe would look like. see something familiar?

  5. Yo nightwing, I was wondering if you knew anything about PEAK basketball shoes. I’ve seen a few guys in the NBA wearing them like Tony Parker and Shane Battier and I’m sure theres a few more. I think it’s a Chinese company similar to Li-Ning, at least thats what I found when I did a little research on it. Anyway, I think it would be a cool brand to look into and expose people too kind of like what you did with Li-Ning, I’d be kind of interested to see how they perform.

  6. I can’t remember if you mentioned it somewhere, but what’s the retail price on these? And I’m pretty sure it won’t affect performance, but I’m curious as to why they used TPU instead of carbon fiber. It’s a pretty standard feature in the Hyperdunk. Can’t wait for these either way. I’m about to retire my 2012s soon hahaha

  7. hi! im in love with the 2012s and looking forward to these
NW what do you think about de rubber used in the outsole, is it soft o do u think they will last in outdoors¿¿??
    sorry for the bad english!
    greetings from Spain

  8. apparently they’re dropping july 20th. just passing on the info, not sure if it’s been posted here yet.

  9. it’s funny how people’s mind work. it’s like playing “Simon says” except that it’s NW sez placebo effect. I remember this shoe being outright crucified by many when it first showed up. now it’s one of the most celebrated upcoming shoe because one person tried it. I guess the lesson to be learned here is to never underestimate and overestimate a shoe unless you actually tried them. on the otherhand, there are a very few exceptions, but those are ridiculous shoes to begin with so not much benefit of a doubt is necessary. e.g. UA Space Boots !
