Performance Teaser: Nike Air Flight One

Playing ball in 90’s kicks is the equivalent of time traveling… just less confusing.

The traction starts out rough. If you’ve already been playing in a pair of these then you know what I’m talking about. For whatever reason, the rubber was somewhat slick for the first few nights. They’ve just started to break-in (speaking solely on traction) after nearly a solid week of hooping in them… once that was taken care of you really don’t have much to worry about.

The overall fit is fantastic. For a 90’s era sneaker… they sure nailed the fit and security. It’s strange because the Air Penny signature models that came afterward don’t offer the lockdown that these do around the heel and ankle area. However, the foam sidewall where the pod is located acts just like the foam wings on the Air Penny 1-3 and keep you in place during harsh lateral movements and changes in direction.

Travel back in time and rock a pair of Air Flight One’s and you won’t be sorry. These beat out some of the 90’s Air Jordan signatures in terms of pure performance… crazy right?
