The PEAK TP9-III – From Design to Technology

At WearTesters we have always stressed how many other brands out there are producing performance footwear. Outside of the big three (Nike, Under Armour, and adidas) we now have BrandBlack, Li-Ning, ANTA, Tesh Sports, 361°, and more. So, we got in touch with someone at China’s PEAK Sports to get details on the PEAK TP9-III and PEAK DH1. Here’s all the information about the PEAK TP9-III from the Chinese brand:

The PEAK TP9-III is inspired from the speedboat and the outline of TP9-III is crafted with a sense of speed. It inherits the spirit of all the past TP shoes designs and meets Tony Parker’s pursuit of extreme speed.
The first group of TP9-III colorways contain many combinations with black, white, and silver which are the symbolic colors representing the unity and purity of San Antonio Spurs basketball spirit.

And now for the tech:
  • The PEAK TP9-III is equipped with PEAK exclusive technology like GRADIENTdual cushioning for easy acceleration
  • Embedded with PEAK visible core technology – CUSHION-3 to provide an excellent cushioning experience for player.
  • The FOOTHOLD technology at the foot arch provides support from the middle of the sole. It connects the forefoot and heel to prevent and protect the foot arch from the torsion during the movement. It also conducts and disseminates the usual stress put on the forefoot.
  • The PEAK TP9-III features the COOLFREE system upper. Breathable structures in different parts of the upper rapidly expel heat and keep feet dry.
  • For support, the 3D transparent TPU surrounding the heel gives great stability. The ankle TPU support structure also provides protection. TPU at the foot arch aids in connecting the forefoot and heel, heightening the stability in order to react faster during movement.

Finally, the design elements are inspired by Charles de Gaulle Square in Paris, sometimes called Place de l’Étoile (square of the star) because of the twelve avenues that radiate from the arch at the center of the square. The design language of the twelve avenues, converging at the center arch, imply Tony Parker is playing for his supporters all over the world. The avenues on the PEAK TP9-III are marked with his career honors, his parents, his country, his mother school, his brothers, his wife, and his child. All together, they support him.
The veiled numbers in the outsole represent his moments of glory during his NBA career. Tony Parker was a 2003 NBA champion, 2005 NBA champion, 2007 NBA champion and NBA FINALS MVP, and 2014 NBA champion. The French words“Le Départ de” and “La Resistance” continue to express his roots in France.
There is no word on when the PEAK TP9-III will arrive Stateside or what it’s retail price will be. Are you feeling the latest Tony Parker signature? Sound off below.

  1. I hope they release these stateside. I was pleased with the TP lighting and the TP2. I love playing in other brands.

  2. Peak had realeased these long ago. There is a low version released recently and those are totally BEAST.

    1. Nasser, I got a size 12 in the tp9.3 and an 11 in the lightning. They are both the same length. Have you noticed size discrepancies like this in the line?

      1. I’m interested in this as well as I wanted to grab a pair and with Peak I’m always uncertain. Sometimes I have to go a full size up sometimes true to size.

      2. I’d like to know this too. I’m usually size 11.5US in most brands. Sometimes I go to a size 12 if the shoe is too narrow and need a bit more room up front. What do I get with these?

Zakk also said to go up a full size in the video he just released.

  3. Of all the Chinese companies getting into b-ball shoes, Peak seems like the one who is doing it right. Performance of the TP line has been solid.

  4. If they could only change the rubber material in the back end of their outsole , this would be my number 1 shoe. I’ve had TP1 and the rubber compound is like foam type thus, it doesn’t plant to the floor as a normal rubber would do and burns out easily. But overall, this is a beastly shoe and you will not go wrong with it.

  5. Shoe would be a whole lot doper if it didn’t have all that sh*t going on.
    • All the chaos on the midsole
    • All the stuff on the upper/Splatter/ perfs/ cut outs/ welds

    Way to busy.

I’m loving the Herring bone on the outsole heel.
I normally like Ice but not so much on this model.

Peak must be under the impression that “A lot of Sh*t” equals value. Thats not always the case.
