Get an Official Look at the Nike Zoom Witness

Nike Zoom Witness - White - Full

We finally get an official look at an interesting upcoming release: the Nike Zoom Witness. We had previously showed you some leaked images that had popped up a month or so ago but it’s nice to see much clearer official images rather than images taken by a flip phone.

As stated previously, nothing seems to have changed in terms of technology for this take-down shoe for Lebron James. It is not clear whether LeBron will wear the shoe or not, but it is dropping in team colorways that are easy to match with uniforms. The shoe features what seems to be a full injected Phylon wing that wraps all the way to the heel to give stability and lockdown. Along the midfoot you have an open mesh material for breathability with fuse overlays on high-wear areas. You also have the Lebron James symbol along the tongue.

The outsole features an aggressive diamond-like grid pattern, previously utilized on the Nike Lebron Ambassador 8. If you look closely at the the outsole it looks pretty legit visually. However, there are some areas of the outsole that are recessed, similar to the Kobe 11 traction; when the foot is in proper placement, the traction molds to the court with foot compression and impact. It has not been made clear whether the rubber utilized is XDR (outdoor friendly), just like the Ambassador.

Those expecting to see superior cushioning will probably be disappointed being that it is only Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot and Phylon in the heel. With a rumored release of mid-October and pricing rumored around the $120 mark, it’ll be interesting to see how this model plays on-court.

What do you think of the latest Nike take-down model? Does the design appeal to you? What do you think of that traction? Let us know what you think down in the comments.

  1. Lebron 14 should be this silhouette. Replace the fuse with performance weave, the phylon with posite, and put full length zoom

  2. I will admit ignorance on LBJ shoes, while performance basketball shoes in general, but especially LBJs. There’s his signature shoe, the LBJ 13s, then the sub signature, Soldier Xs, and a takedown model, the Zoom Witnesses?

I just copped a pair of Soldier X’s for $130, and these are going to be $120? Why are the price points so close but the tech isn’t?
