Nike Zoom Soldier VIII Deconstructed

Long 7 takes apart another pair of kicks, this time its the Nike Zoom Soldier VIII.

Taken apart from the sole up, you can see the thin Zoom Air units – something I’m not a fan of. Along with that, the internal torsional bar and nylon cables that go from the strap to the footbed for support and lockdown – a great feature that surprised the hell out of me while testing them – are clearly seen which wound up making these a pretty solid on-court option.

  1. Definitely not the same cushioning from the older models like the soldier 3 and 6s. The heel cushioning on the ZS3s was the awesome!! Please bring that heel cushioning back!!!

  2. Amazing so many players wear the soldiers with such a little cushioning. Nightwing, any ideas when the Melo 11 is coming out.

    1. airmax at the heel was thin for the ambassador’s with the newer 180 bag.. i have friends who had outsole peel around the lateral of the heel. cant really play outdoors unless you really rely on forefoot when running. but solid looking shoe. but in the durability view, i would say all the soldiers from the 1 to 5.

  3. Yo, sorry about the unrelated question, but does anybody have experience with the LeBron zoom soldier v? How are they as far as performance goes?
