Nike Zoom Ascention

Nike has some new models planned for 2016, and the upcoming Nike Zoom Ascention looks promising.

The upper looks to be FlyWeave – which is something I’m very happy to see. Our days of HyperFuse are coming to and end and I couldn’t be happier. Not to say that Nike will never make Fuse models again, but I’m happy to see them transition into woven and knitted uppers over the plastic stuff. There also looks to be foam structuring the rear heel panel as well. It’s safe to assume Zoom Air is the cushion source, but where it’s place is still a mystery. My guess would be forefoot only as these look like they may be a budget friendly model.

  1. Great development to see the knit/woven rolled out across basketball, it’s cheaper to produce, and feels better, this is the future.

The shoes themselves looks slightly off, the heel should have slightly more foam/mesh to balance the look(but that’s what the brands do to justify budget/premium these days *shaking my head*).

  2. So Nightwing, do you think this is going to be like a big name replacement for the hyperfuse line? I’ve always liked the hyperfuse shoe itself even if the materials are behind now.

  3. The siloettte reminds of CP3.9. Of all the budget models featuring fly weave, really interested in these and the new Kobe Mentality.

  4. I think zoom is starting to get outdated especially when you have boost, Jetlon and Micro G as well as unlocked zoom. Under armour and Adidas are now starting to keep nike honest and it’s good to see especially since the keep short cutting the last 5 years or so and pricing at a premium.
