The Rumored Nike PG 1, Paul George’s First Signature, Surfaces

Today an image leaked of what could be Paul George’s first signature sneaker, the Nike PG 1. According to Sneaker Files, this latest sig will also be dubbed the “Bait 1.”

As far as tech goes, the PG 1 features a midfoot strap and inner bootie setup. The image is a bit blurry but it looks like there is Flywire present at the forefoot. There don’t appear to be any Zoom logos on the midsole, but the toe does seem to have Fuse reinforcement.

According to Sneaker Files, The Nike PG 1 will retail for $110 and may arrive around September. If these rumors turn out to be true, that leads us to believe that this shoe is poised to compete with the adidas D Lillard line and the all around less expensive (and more bang for your buck) adidas offerings.

For now, let us know what you think about this Obsidian colorway of the PG 1 in the comments down below. What do you hope for in this latest shoe tech-wise at this price point?

  1. That has been PG’s Nike logo for years; sort of implied in the story it’s a new logo. He also wears the number 13, as the logo isn’t trying to resemble a 3, it’s just his initials.

  2. Decent I guess I’ll wait to see what tech is used… is it me or does the midsole remind you of the j crossover 2 midsole from brandblack?

  3. These look like they may have the same flywire-strap system that the LeBron Soldier 9 has, if so forefoot lockdown will be amazing (probably). As someone who lives in Indiana and has been a fan of PG for a while, I like how these look. Need to see these in a Pacers colorway though!

  4. Aesthetically its not bad. Looks like the fit would be good; I’m liking this low bootysetup with the strap. Now the question is does this have zoom, and can you actually feel it or is it the “ghost zoom” that does nothing?

  5. I dig the way it looks from what we can see, but the colorway is pretty bland. The strap looks to be the same material as the straps on the soldier 10, which is better than the plastic/fuse straps that always seem to curl out. Hope this does well for PG. His story over the last couple years is a good one.

  6. Looks like a low-top Soldier 10 with two of the straps being replaced with laces and the swoosh being flipped.

  7. Is this maybe the next HyperLive or it’s successor? PG wore those last year. These promising. They would be good shoes if they have the cushioning from the HyperRev16. I would also like them if they have the drop in cushioning like the HyperLive because I would just replace the drop in midsole with a zoom one from my Lebron 4s or Flightposites.

      1. Man, I have been praying for that for not just Nike but all brands. It’s such a game changer if they do it and such a simple idea really. With Nike running out of ideas on new innovations as far as cushion goes, that would be the best thing they could do.

      1. I see it has the strap and the shape where it peeks at the tounge to me its a love child of hyperrev 16 and kd4
