Nike Introduces the Zoom Live 2017

With another name change within the Nike Basketball lineup, the Nike HyperLive is now known as the Nike Zoom Live 2017.

This is a budget model from Nike Basketball, but they look really cool — my opinion, of course. Everything from the mesh upper, neoprene internal boot, midfoot strap, to the crazy looking traction look really interesting. It looks as if the take down/team line from Nike is taking ahold of the reigns and bringing the on-court heat as the signature models have been disappointing — with the exception being the Nike KD 9. Cushion is forefoot only, and it’s Zoom Air, so it’s usefulness is still up in the air, but for $100 they aren’t a bad looking pair of kicks if you’re unable to afford the $150+ signature team shoes.

Three colorways of the Nike Zoom Live 2017 are available now at Nike.com. Be sure to share your thoughts on the kicks below and stay tuned for an eventual performance review.

  1. No heel cushion, no sale to me. I’ll cop a different brand or I’ll buy a Hyperdunk or KD on sale for basically the same price. It’s not often when I land on my heels, but if a jump is mistimed, or I come down sooner than expected from being fouled, bumped, etc…..those landings are just brutal if your cushioning isn’t there. You can feel it all the way up your legs.

  2. It looks good for a budget model and the traction seems nice, but theres probably a 95% chance you can’t feel the zoom(like most Nike ball shoes these days).

  3. I had it in hand a couple of times. Traction is really aggresive and looks to be the perfect outsole for outdoors. Really deep and durable. Cushion looks sketchy though…

  4. They arent as toddler looking shoes in person. Sleeker in person. Could be a kyrie budget model if they want it to.

  5. Looks like it basically has same set up as the Hypershift, which personally I loved. I’ll catch these with a 20% coupon from Eastbay or Finish Line.

  6. these look dope for a budget model, traction multidirectional with pressure points along the ball of the foot, if the heel phylon is as soft as the hyperdunk 2016 and you can feel the forefoot zoom, could be a pretty nice shoe

  7. In my humble opinion these looks absolutely dope! Put a PG logo on it and call it the PG1 and the internet would’ve explode.
