The Nike Hyperchase is Nike’s latest affordable option for the basketball category.
As of now, we’ve only seen special edition versions of the shoe release, but this is the first retail pair with no gimmicky colorways and inflated price tags attached. The shoe retails for $100, and I’ve been playing in the All-Star version… so far not satisfied with their traction. However, I do want to try this pair out since most of the regular versions will have the solid rubber outsole so I’m curious to know if there is a performance difference.
Once I see them in-store I’ll grab another pair to make sure the traction is bad, or confirm that it was just the clear outsole’s problem, and if you wanted a pair then head over to Eastbay.
looking at the all-star pair i had assumed that the traction was identical with the lebron 11, but this solid outsole shows clearly that this isn’t really the case…the pattern is so shallow on these, looks like dust would totally nullify the pattern instantaneously, not a good look at all….

btw, the shoe was made for jimmy harden, but besides the all-star game the guy hasn’t even been rocking them, that already takes the appeal out of the shoe for a lotta kids, no?
Pricing can be a tricky thing. I don’t fully understand why both these and the Kobe Mentality would be the same price. Then again, these have flywire while those don’t. The Kobe Mentality has full length Lunar though and these don’t. The traction on the Mentality is thick and deeper too. I really wonder how that decision is made sometimes. I’m genuinely curious and not being critical. I just don’t really understand sometimes when it comes to the shoe market. This is coming from someone with a Business/Tech background.

It’ll be up soon. I dont have a schedule bc I don’t want to feel pressured to finish something if Im not ready. My body cant keep going for weeks on end, I need to rest in between shoes now.

I love my all stars. The traction isn’t the best byany means but I manage with it. On a well kept court these are my favorite shoes right now. I too wonder if the traction on these team models is an improvement
My floor was pretty clean and I couldnt get much grip at all. What little dirt/ dust was present really had a negative affect. Im wondering if the solid rubber will help at all.
