We’re known to drop knowledge when shoes first appear and release, usually before that, but we are still fans of random shoes dropping without notice. It’s like back in the day when you walked into a store and a shoe you’d never seen before was sitting on the shelf and your eyes locked on to it. In many cases, we enjoy the low-key drops, and that’s what Nike has done with the Nike FL-Rue.
The Nike FL-Rue is more or less an off-court shoe that borrows design elements from the past for the present. How you ask? Well, details from the Nike Flight’s footwear genealogy might be minuscule but are present: the Nike Air Zoom Flight GP’s (Gary Payton) curved midsole line and the Nike Zoom Flight V B’s (Jason Kidd) textured outsole.
This flavor comes with a jewel swoosh on the tooling and a heel Zoom Air unit. The upper features a synthetic leather and neoprene for a premium look with laser-cut perforations for breathability. The slip-on also features a dynamic webbing for some lockdown.
For those that want a general shoe for after basketball practice, or just a different casual shoe, the Nike FL-Rue may be something to consider. This silhouette, and three other colorways, are currently available at Nike.com for $110 each.
What do you guys think of this latest off-court shoe? Would you rock a pair? Sound off down in the comments.
