The Nike Air Zoom Cabos Lands at Oneness in Infrared

Nike will never stop refreshing/borrowing from/using classic old silhouettes to create new ones. This time, the Swoosh has utilized the Nike Air Zoom Flight, one of Gary Payton’s old beaters, to create the Nike Air Zoom Cabos.

The Nike Air Zoom Cabos ditches the look of the past for the modern sock-upper plus outsole aesthetic. It uses a mesh upper and tons of reflective bungee cords for fit instead of the traditional zipper and laces of old. Support seems to have vanished as well — the monkey paw is gone, replaced by padding in the collar. A Zoom Air unit lives in the heel and the outsole retains a faux carbon fiber piece. However, what is notable about the Air Zoom Cabos is the minimalistic branding — there are no huge swooshes on this shoe, just many small ones on the pull tabs, insoles, and heels.

Now, Oneness has stocked the Nike Air Zoom Cabos in Infrared. Retail is set at $135. If you’re interested in picking up a pair head over to Oneness.

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before HesKicks decides to chop the bungees off. Thoughts on this “updated” version of a Gary Payton classic? Sound off in the comments below.

      1. Man, the only reason I could think of for them to release this is to make their other shoes on the rack look better next to it. And they’re selling it for $135! This is gonna hit the outlets for $35 real fast.

  1. Honestly not that bad. Would look unreal in all black, with black/3M laces.

Nike needs to realize that white shoes with bright orange laces (bungee chords) are not in style right now. Black, white, and reflective are the way to go.
