Nike Air Penny 2 Retro ‘All-Star’ | Detailed Look and Review

The Nike Air Penny 2 is featured in our Penny Hardaway sneaker history video

The Nike Air Penny 2 has been a standout sneaker this year — for me at least — and the latest to release is the classic ‘All-Star’ edition worn by Penny Hardaway during the 1997 NBA All-Star game. If you wanted to know how these stack up to the last release from 2008 or just my thoughts in general then you’ll likely enjoy the detailed look and review below.

If you were interested in grabbing a pair, they’re available now here. However, the Air Penny 2’s have been getting discounted in-store so if you are patient then you can save some money by waiting a little while until the price drops.

  1. you think it’s a good performance shoe? I know you had one awhile back, but I don’t know if you think any differently.

    1. When I checked it out, I didn’t think so. No actual fibers could be made out in the weave. I’ve heard the “well there’s bumps” argument, and while some CF is finished with a thin resin to have felt bumps, it’s not likely for stiffness purposes.

In fact I’m not sure which pairs actually have real CF apart from the sig Elites. There’s just no point when you can source comparably stiffer and cheaper TPU.

  2. thanks. I could wear these at work. too bad brandblack and finishline are too lazy to answer my inquiries.

  3. cushion setup is somewhat similar to the sonic flights which were sick including the materials and aesthetics.. although the concern with these are the heels’ durability. mine were obliterated in less than a year.
