Nike Air Max Con 3.26 Recap

What’s up everyone? We here at WearTesters just wanted to bring you a quick recap of the experience and walk-through of the Nike Air Max Con 3.26 event that actually lasted from March 24 to March 26 (actual #AirMaxDay), located in the Big Apple, New York City. Without further ado, let’s get it.

Similar to the SNKRS Express event that happened earlier this year, Nike has seized the day of March 26 specifically for Air Max Day and turned it into a big event. Air Max Con really showcased the love and affection for the beautiful design and history of the Nike Air Max — from its very inception. The best part about this year was that this event wasn’t only in New York, but also Japan and Hong Kong. Nike successfully brings out the best of the best when it comes to showcasing the history of its shoes in a full, visible archive, while also bringing forth the present.

While we didn’t get a chance to NikeID some shoes, take a NikeID Class with Lee Gibson, or get on line to purchase any shoes (damn you resellers), or able to get any KITH Treats, we did get to vote for which Air Max we wanted to see back — the Air Max 1 x atmos. The point is we got to take in the full experience of what Air Max Con was all about: the love for our Nike Air Max.

We were also ecstatic to meet some of the showcased artists at the event like @Ellaesco who had a super dope display. She’s such an awesome individual with her supreme love for the Air Max models (so make sure you give her a follow). Our other highlight was meeting Nike Senior Footwear Designer for Nike Sportswear, Lee Gibson. (You may have seen some of his work, particularly with the HTM line) We were able to chop it up for more than a few minutes, unfortunately out of respect there’s not much we can express on the record, but what we can tell you is that the evolution of Flyknit material is just the beginning. Thank you for the great conversation Mr. Gibson, we look forward to seeing the expansion of your creativity and innovative genius, particularly within the AJXXXI and AJXXX2.

Again, we want to give a big thank you to the people at Nike for hospitality on a successful Air Max Con event and the good people at Jason Markk for keeping our sneakers so fresh and so clean. Oh, and KITH Treats, I still want my Cereal/Ice Cream.
