Eclectic basketball player Metta World Peace The Panda’s Friend may not be playing in the NBA next season but his footwear choices have still nabbed the player some headlines. While sneakerheads have already seen the stuffed animal look from Jeremy Scott’s lifestyle footwear, Metta World Peace (sorry, I can’t write “The Panda’s Friend” without laughing) will be rocking a panda-adorned kick similar to the designer’s sneakers… on-court!
No confirmation yet on the brand of the sneakers. ESPN has said that they are a “cheaper version of Jeremy Scott’s $200 sneakers” but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are made by adidas. Peace was last seen in Ball’N brand sneakers so there’s a chance that these were made by them.
Whatever the case, Metta World Peace’s new panda sneakers will release on Metta World Peace’s site sometime next Tuesday (September 30th.) Let us know your thoughts on this polarizing sneaker in the comments below.
