Jordan Brand Takes it Back to ’97 with the Upcoming Air Jordan 13 Retro Packaging

It started with the Air Jordan 1 as they took things back to 1985. Then they leapt to ’88 through ’91 with the 3-6 Retro. Fast forward to 1996 with the 12. And now 1997 and the Air Jordan 13.

If you’ve been digging the Retro vibe Jordan Brand has been delivering with the boxes some of the Retro models come in then you’re going to love this. Younger sneaker lovers may not care too much, but those of us that lived through it will appreciate the effort. The box doesn’t look as metallic as the old boxes in my closet, but it’ll do.

The only thing I really want is some actual leather on the toe of the 13. For years we’ve been getting stiff synthetics on the toe with a weird reinforced toe bumper. They’ve actually been doing that to every Retro release. Hopefully that all stops with the upcoming Air Jordan 13 Retro in White/Red. It would truly be a remastered product and it would also be way more comfortable to hoop in.

Check out the packaging that we can all expect when the Retro 13 hits retailers in 2017, and share your thoughts with us in the comment section.

  1. Saw this the other day. SOOOO happy. The 13 is one of my favorite shoes to ball in of all time. This is also the colorway I had/still have. The leather on the OG is buttery. I tried them on not that long ago and they were still comfortable. I don’t trust the glue to wear them so its awesome I can get these again. Like you said hopefully the toe is leather. Also hopefully the midsole isn’t just painted but real suede/felt whatever it was back in the day. Mine didn’t bleed THAT bad.
