Get Your First Look at the Nike Air Akronite

There’s a new LeBron sneaker in town, but this one is just for kids.

These have been dubbed the Nike Air Akronite – for obvious reasons – and take a lot of inspiration from a past LeBron All-Star/ Galaxy release. Their upper looks pretty interesting as they use an ankle strap along with the mesh and foam structured upper that we’ve been seeing a lot lately. Tooling is one of the areas that comes as a surprise. We’re used to seeing the LeBron line re-use tooling from past LeBron models, but these borrow tooling from an old Nike model – the Nike Air Tech Challenge II.

If you wear kids sizes and like what you see, the Nike Air Akronite will release on October 15 – price has not been announced.

  1. Looks like it’s got velcro patches for the kids to have fun with….anyone else also realize these have the same bottoms of the air tech challenge ii/ yeezys?

  2. Nike is still bullshitting people with these crappy felt over bits and pieces of shoes that they keep putting together and calling it by some new name. What’s next? Some of the Kobe x, some of the kid, and part of the ros he and call it the air breakable aka the Humpty Dumpty’s.

  3. I love how sneaker manufacturers hire “designers” to “design” shoes. For example kanye didnt design shit at nike. Either pair. There both made from junk pieces left on the floor of a tai sweatshop. And to make it worse people are all like “damn those yeez are fire yo” no they are crap. CRAP CRAP CRAP….MEGACRAP. My four year old could design a better pair of sneakers than kanye. Sexy uggs my hairy white ass….ok rant over
