Get a Detailed Look at the Upcoming adidas D Rose 7

Nike unveiled some exciting new basketball models that we can expect to release this summer, it’s adidas that might take home the trophy for best hoop shoes of 2016.

This is the upcoming adidas D Rose 7, and shoe we’ve seen a few times here on WearTesters. Each time we see them they look more and more amazing, especially now that we can see a few more of their performance features in this new set of detailed images. Not only are we getting full length Boost, but it’s practically fully exposed. The only support frame we can see comes from the lateral outrigger wrap so it’ll be fun to see how adidas has managed to suppress the Boosts unstable nature. Traction looks amazing. Full length aggressive herringbone? Sign us up for a few pairs, please. Then we get to the PrimeKnit upper. It looks amazing and will likely feel amazing. Hopefully it’s supportive enough for basketball. At the rear section you can see midfoot and heel support panels for lockdown and stability.

Still no official release just yet, but stay tuned for information as it comes. In the meantime, feel free to drool a little over this new detailed look at the upcoming adidas D Rose 7. Get a Detailed Look at the Upcoming adidas D Rose 7 1

  1. These look beastly! Hopefully the cushion is more responsive than soft as I loved the beefy cushion at first on the 6, but started using my curry and lillard 2s, for the more responsive set up.

  2. With D Rose’s increased play and potential return to MVP-contention, these could sell REALLY well. Amazingly simple design and we know they’re gonna perform well.

    1. Rose is just a fringe all star at best now. He will never fully come back to that MVP play he used to have. Its Butler’s team now.

      1. Unless you can see the future or something then that’s invalid. Everyone wants to count him out because he’s had bad luck with injuries. Unless you’ve been seriously injured you don’t understand that besides the physical part of recovery, you also have the mental part that takes it’s toll. If you’ve watched him since All Star break you’ll see he’s finally gaining his confidence back. Anyone can return to elite level after an ACL tear also. Hence Adrian Peterson. He’s still young also.

      2. It’s Fred Hoiberg’s team, and that’s the problem for the Bulls, a White Collar coach, with a Blue Collar roster.

      3. People used to say the same thing about Curry while he was ruining his ankles in Nike shoes. He got healthy, and now he is a beast. All Rose needs to do is to get that confidence back and bang, he’ll be a problem.

That said, these shoes have “for hardcore basketball playing only”, written all over them.

      4. This. Rose will never be an MVP caliber player again. You cannot come back from THAT many injuries. You do not have to sit out THAT many games and deal with THAT many setbacks and THAT much soreness if you are over injuries. He didn’t “get injured”.. he IS injured, permanently.

  3. Kinda still questioning the high lace setup,

There seems no way to tighten around the forefoot,

BUT the traction does seem very nice based on what we can see partially from the pics,

Are the pics taken from a shoe store in asia?

    Are they already sold there??

  4. Hate the return of the stripes, but that black pair is so mean. The articulation of the overlays is gonna be what I’m most curious about — how it works and if it’s gonna rub on itself. The black pair in particular looks like it’s using thicker synthetic materials in that section.

Monster shoe. IIRC from the previous leaks, they were dated August.

  5. You know, it would be interesting to see if Adida’s could make a low top D Rose. I love lows and would love to see how one would work out.

    Just a thought. . .

    1. Harden will have a full length boost low top coming out at around the same time as drose7. I believe they will be the 2016 CL Boost.

  6. That black pair is a must-buy! This model looks great! FULL length boost, primeknit, BEASTLY looking traction. I may have to grab multiple pairs. The red looks sick too. And the first leaks of the white/red colorway also look dope. Well-done Adidas.

  7. love those, for me adidas always had two flaws – cushioning and traction, they fixed the first one with boost and bounce, now it seems, that they will fix the latter

  8. while the traction pattern and cushion density on these looks awesome, the general aesthetics on these just looked horribly Nike-ishly ugly.

  9. Nice that the traction is a little deeper. I hope the rubber isnt Charmin soft so it could last longer.

As for the look, its straight 90s. I like it.

  10. Am I the only one who thinks they look ugly? I really hope they don’t do that material change crap with every pair..doesn’t look like it in the pics tho

    1. I don’t think that they look good from a casual stand point but I do think that they look good enough for the court. I don’t think that they would be worn in jeans for me.

    2. you’re not. as I mentioned previously, they look like Nike’s ugly designed shoes. I’d pass on these without a moment’s hesitation and I would gladly buy another pair of Rose 6’s. personally, from an aesthetic side, these are a downgrade from the 6’s which looked awesome. these may perform better but I still would buy them because of their ugliness.

      1. Agree that the D Rose 6 look better than the 7 in terms of shoe design,

The D Rose 7 does have a more aggressive traction pattern though,

Still a long way before this gets released, and im not in a hurry since im enjoying playing in my D Rose 6.

  11. I’m so excited about the new d rose 7 boost, i’ll actually buy every pair that drops and they look very nice. ??

  12. the 3 stripes logo is ugly AF and spoils the aesthetics IMO, but having said that will still be interested to see your review when you get a pair

  13. I may be the only person on the whole internet that didn’t like feel the Rose 6 Boost all it is talked about. But I am curious nevertheless on how this one will feel. Looks GREAT (except for those stripes on the forefoot…ughh)

    1. it’s still Boost so these won’t be any different. better stick with Bounce or something else that isn’t Boost.

      1. My main issue with it is not even it not being unresponsive, but I didnt feel the ‘walking on the clouds’ ‘awesome impact protection’ everyone talked about. Maybe the shoe is just designed for heavier, high jumper athletes instead of 185lb, ground bound guys.

        1. I dunno about that. I do weight from 159 lbs (2 years ago) to as much as 200 lbs (current weight). so far, they felt like pillows just as much as how comfortable the Kobe 2’s and Soldier 6’s are in a different way. so not sure and most probably it is just psychological on your part or expecting too much.

        2. You probably got a crap pair. I don’t even weigh that much and I can feel the “walking on cloud”. Keep in mind you have to be ACTIVE to get the boost experience. Standing in them is not the best way to get the boost experience, although I can still feel how comfortable they are just standing in them. If you still can’t feel it take out the insoles and wear thin socks..or put in those massaging insoles, you will love it.

    1. the KD’s mostly are a miss. seldom they come up with something nice or better in terms of performance, comfort and aesthetics.

    2. I don’t know about that. I’m still sold on the Kd 9’s. These look amazing tho- the exposed boost is incredible, along with the prime knit. Adidas has been really inconsistent as far as traction goes, but these: the herringbone looks peaked, if so it’ll be crazy.

      1. I said mostly. I didn’t particularly said the KD9. sorry about that. as far as Adidas traction is concerned, I don’t believe they are inconsistent. they do however have a miss on using a particular traction pattern that didn’t suit very well overall like the CLB2015 that they used for their other Boost iteration.

  14. uh….that traction looks RIDICULOUS, seriously, these look like they’re going to be great
i’m hoping that the cushion isn’t going to be as mushy as the 6, though, to be honest i don’t need anywhere near THAT much cushion

  15. Great looking shoe adidas. The three stripes on toe gives this shoe a team adidas feel. Nothing wrong with that though. Similar to team issued version’s of the 1998 Team issued Kobe’s without the 8 stitched in the tongue. Traction looks awesome, hope it’s sticky rubber. Lacing system seems lacking up front. Especially if a low is produced from this shoe. Hope forefoot lock down isn’t an issue for Rose. My 6’s were a great shoe, but still needed several tweaks. To appeal to more users.

  16. Gorgeous look, PrimeKnit, and TechFit, with some stability overlays, they should be a great big-man option too.

  17. Looks like everything we need for a great PERFORMING shoe (It’s pretty ugly)
    – deep aggressivee herringbone tranction
    – stable base with outrigger
    – heel counter and high lace setup with structure for support and lockdown
    – flyknit and footstay for containment
    – full length boost

    1. you’re right.. I had to look to be sure, but it’s as close to being the same shoe as you’ll ever see. hyperrev’s “frame” doesn’t extend up as high, and therefore doesn’t lace up as high, making it more of a low.. while the rose 7 could give a tiny bit more support/lockdown with the high laces.

    2. I don’t know. I’ll give you that how the outsole wraps up at the ball of the foot looks like the Hyperrev 2015, but that’s the only similarity I see. Even then, I’m fine with Adidas doing that. It at least serves a function here (stabilizing the boost), whereas it was pretty much 100% an aesthetic choice for the Hyperrev.

  18. Hold on with the prime knit… There is this (2 monts old) page on TSG (source: Weartesters (…) that says there’ll be engineered mesh versions (140 Usd) and prime knit versions (160 Usd)
These images seem to show the EM versions.

should be good enough for me. I don’t mind the team shoe look. Might use a sharpie for the stripes as well 😉

  19. looks like a pair of lebron 13s with boost, except with cheap material replacing the polite wings on the lebrons. Jumpman forever.
