And1 is making a comeback and it plans on using the Stephon Marbury Mid as the platform — now dubbed the And1 Coney Island Classic.
It’s been about 20 years since these shoes were available at retailers and this June will see the classic streetball brand’s heritage come full circle.
Stephon Marbury was the face of the shoe and people couldn’t get enough of the mixtapes. It was the basketball world’s version of a boyband and everyone was watching. Not only will the original Marbury Mid be returning, but it’ll be returning in two OG colorways along with this brand new edition done in tonal red.
The original version featured full grain leather uppers, EVA mid-Soul, and high density rubber Out-Soul with a breathable mesh tongue. Yes, the original tech specs said “soul” instead of sole — and the names were trademarked.
Price and official release date have yet to be announced but stick with WearTesters and we’ll update you as soon as we hear something. In the meantime, let us know what you think about the And1 Marbury Mid returning after all these years and if you plan on scooping up a pair.

I like that they’re bringing them back but the cut of the leather is way off. looks like they changed the shape of the shoe. if you look at pics of og pairs the width of the blue section is consistent along the eyestay. on these retro pairs it gets really wide. it really messes up the look of the white/royal pair. I’ve seen changes to the overall shape in other retros as well and its a bummer
Sorry Oracle but I know for a fact thats the same cut from the original. Those white and royals are the original pairs. One was kinda tied and the other is not.
Exactly! Still have my original navyblue pair and already posted some comments about the shape. The original also had eight eyelets instead of seven. Fit was the best part of the original and although I love it to come back, the changes kind of suck.

This is to COOL , I’ve been wearing And1s’ since they came out in 1993 I hope they will be releasing the Tai Chi Mid also ! I currently have about 20 different pairs and I’m looking forward to more . As for my belief in the shoe and its integrity , I have not found a better pair of shoes since I put on my first pair and I wouldn’t wear any other brand simply because their not as comfortable as my AND1’s . . .
