Yet another sneaker buying and selling app has sprung up. The latest app, ShuPlug, may have the edge on a lot of the apps currently out with swift delivery, a low consignment fee, and boutique partnerships.
While only available on iOS right now, the app uses partnerships with sneaker boutiques in New York and Los Angeles to verify the condition and authenticity of sneakers for buyers. So far, partners include The Holy Grail, BIN 23, Ambition Upstate, and SoleMate NYC.
Sellers can list their items as negotiable or non-negotiable. An in-app chat feature allows buyers and sellers to communicate throughout the transaction process. Customers that want to get serious about reselling can visit ShuPlug’s official partners to become a verified or referred seller. Even better, the app touts the lowest consignment fee in the industry, 8 percent, and has partnered with FedEx to ensure delivery within 72 hours.
Sneakers for men, women, and kids are available on the app. You can download the app from iTunes here for free and immediate access to an inventory comprised of the latest and greatest sneakers.
If you download the app, let us know what your experience is like down in the comments. Are you using any of the other apps available?
Founded in August 2015 by JR Austria and Tony Macarena, ShuPlug was built from the ground up for sneakerheads by sneakerheads as a one-stop mobile sneaker shop. ShuPlug is connecting with local sneaker stores to bridge the brick-and-mortar experience with the convenience of an app. ShuPlug aims to build a community within the mobile marketplace by providing live chat, up to date release dates, and features to gamify the user experience. ShuPlug received a 1M Valuation in its seed round and is currently aiming to raise another round to enable the expansion of ShuPlug onto the Android and web platforms, in addition to more features to come.
