Air Jordan XX9 Infrared 23 – Quick Look

Many pictures have surfaced of new colorways for the Air Jordan XX9. Below are the XX9’s suited up with the popular Infrared colorway. I’m really feeling this colorway. An Infrared upper, red outsold, black elephant print midsole and to top it off, a metallic silver Jumpman. You just can’t go wrong.  These are going to hit shelves on November 29th, 2014 for $225. Will you be picking these up? Leave a comment down below and check out other info on the Air Jordan XX9.

  1. Man…how Awesome would it be to see MJ wearing these in a Bulls game?…god i miss the G.O.A.T!
Funny how, when you see MJ wearing his New Jordans on court it makes you like them even more, especially when you thought they were ugly at first, just seeing him wear em makes you think twice.

      1. Ok. Thanks nightwing. I was hoping it would be orange because it would match my school colors perfectly. But I guess I’ll just go for the orange and black ones releasing on the 6th.

    1. Well there isn’t a $100 shroud to leave off this time. It seems that the Superfly III is that stripped down XX9 shoe once you account for the high quality Italian woven upper.

      1. The Jordan XX8 SEs are probably the best value top-of-the-line performance shoe I’ve seen.

If it wasn’t for the Zoom Air issues, I would have grabbed multiple pairs. I never ended up buying even one pair and I am still very disappointed about having to pass on them, but since I’m not in the US, I just can’t justify the cost to send them back if the Zoom Air bags pop on the first day of use.

Having said that, if I was in the US, I still would have taken the risk and bought a pair or two, as it’s much easier to send them back or get a refund from Nike.

I might have to agree with Dime about them not releasing a cheaper SE pair of these. How much do you think the upper costs? I don’t think it’s as much as what that shroud was worth, so not sure if changing the upper on these is enough to bring the price down. Even if the upper is expensive, not sure if Jordan Brand would want to do it this time around, would they?

I think another one of the reasons they changed it was because people didn’t like it aesthetically. I might be wrong, but that is the impression I got, people didn’t care for the looks of it with the shroud. I think it was a combination of the cost of the shroud and the shroud itself that made Jordan Brand release the SEs.

It was also awesome of them to keep the exact same midsole setup for the SEs. They could have went cheap and replaced it with a different/cheaper cushioning setup, but they didn’t. I thought that was great.

        1. I actually bought the same shoe multiple times. XX8 OG, Super fly 2, Melo X, XX8 SE and then another pair of XX8 SE because the first one deflated and was exchanged. All of those shoes are worth the money for the performance you get out of them.

I’d be hard pressed to believed that the shroud material on the XX8 OG is even really the cost that JB demands for it. This upcoming XX9 is supposed to be the flagship of basketball performance & luxury.

      2. I was also thinking that the superfly 3s are kinda like the se versions of the xx9.
I also thought it would be pretty hard to make a stripped down version of the xx9s without making it to similar to the superfly 3. Oh well nothing to do but hope

      3. Maybe for the SE, they’ll replace the woven upper for a less advanced upper, perhaps Dynamic fit. Who knows.
