The adidas Ultra Boost 3.0 ‘Black Silver’ is Slated for Spring Release

If you missed your chance at picking up the adidas Ultra Boost 3.0 ‘Triple Black’ last month, you’re in luck because adidas is dropping another similar colorway on the popular Ultra Boost silhouette. Set to release in an all black and silver color scheme, the adidas Ultra Boost 3.0 ‘Black Silver’ puts a nice twist on the standard black colorways that we’ve become accustomed to from adidas.

Featuring a new two-toned black and silver Primeknit upper and translucent Three-Stripes cage, the ‘Black Silver’ colorway is sure to set itself apart from traditional triple black model. Black and silver speckled laces, as well as the black heel counter, painted BOOST midsole, and black Continental rubber outsole help to tie the look all together.

There is no release date set for the ‘Black Silver’ model of the Ultra Boost 3.0. However, it is expected to launch sometime this spring for $180 USD, just like any other UB 3.0 model.

  1. Dumb question: this whole time colored Boost is just on the sides? Like they applied the color post-assembly?

    1. Yeah I remember the adidas team saying something like adding paint/color into the boost would impact the way boost feels. Not sure if it would effect the durability also. I am sure they have tried (as it seems like a no-brainer) and the end result is not good at all. Maybe it explodes or something. But as of right now they can only paint boost but so can we.

      Quote:
“The foam itself is actually rare enough – there’s not enough of it on the planet – and you can basically only get as much as we’re producing. Right now, white is the best color to produce it in. So, the foam itself will be the same color indefinitely, but we really just wanted to highlight the foam and the upper separately.”

If I was a wealthy man I’d invest on a boost mine.

  2. I thought Boost was man made/produced? Where did you get that quote from? I thought it was made from Polyurethane pellets melted together in a mold? Is that quote legit, or has someone made that up?

Also, I thought they were working on fully coloured Boost. If all they are doing is just painting the sidewalls of the midsole, I can just do that myself. I wonder why they don’t paint it on the bottom either. I guess the paint would chip off on the bottom, but that is also a place I’d like it coloured as Boost looks horrible underneath the shoe when it gets dirty. I hate how nasty it looks on my Glide Boost 8s after it got dirty. I also wonder if painting it affects performance at all?
