The adidas D Rose 8 is Spotted Overseas

adidas d rose 8 first look 2

Somewhere, the adidas D Rose 8 is on display.

The forefoot, with its striated perforations, makes me think of Wolverine — especially in this black/yellow/blue colorway. It looks like the latest Rose will get full-length Boost cushioning (#BoostIsLife) and a lacing system similar to what we’ve seen on the Crazy Explosive and CrazyLight Boost. There is some fuse reinforcement, but crisper photos will better tell us what we’re in for.

There is no official news yet on the D Rose 8, so pricing, tech info, and release date are still unknown. Thoughts on Rose’s latest signature? Let us know.

  1. Logan was SO good. I think the stand-out performances from that movie are the girl (Dafne Keen) and Patrick Stewart. I thought the ending was much less climactic than the ending in the Old Man Logan story, but it was still good.

  2. As far as the shoes go, I wonder of the swirl part on the front is supposed to mimic a rose swirls…..if the makes sense, that way it easier to tell its D. Rose’s shoes.

As far as the movie…..I was pretty let down at the end sequence.

  3. Once again, another one of these “leaks” that look like they were taken with a potato cam. The boost in the forefoot looks sort of thick, so that might be good. The first thing I look for in boost ball shoes these days is if the forefoot could be felt.

Other than that , its ok, looks-wise. Plain but not hideous. That yellow colorway is a terrible first impression, but the other ones look fine.

    1. Agreed about the potato cam. I will admit that we have stopped reporting a lot of these “leaks” because the shoes always look better when they’re officially unveiled. And often, people report the leaks as the shoe when we are hearing directly from brands that was is being leaked is totally fake or a scrapped sample.

      1. Yeah, I think most of these are leaked directly from the brand, and they have the worst pictures so we don’t get too good of a look at them before they are unvieled. Still, I appreciate ya’ll posting them up.

  4. Like Chief Keef.. “I Don’t Like” in terms of aesthetics. Looks like a 773 line and if it was a 773 line that would be bad ass with FLBoost. Curious on how signature models are picked.. does adidas show Rose a bunch of concept and designs and then Rose picks? Because of that’s the case Rose has some bad taste in design for the last 5+ years with the 7 and 2 and being one of the best looking ones. Even the 773-2 loss better than most.

  5. Theseaint no d rose!!!Nooo
some cheap as fuse team model which happens to have boost and is showcased infront of a d rose logo. And yes I am sure!

  6. Definitely hard to tell what’s what. The CE’s cable whatever setup was pretty novel. Taking that can easily simplify a shoe’s stability features, although I’d think the Rose still slots in as the “lockdown/stability” pair, running with more overlays or stiffer materials, and possibly creating enough structure to add more ventilation this time around. Hopefully that top loop is anchored from the heel. The heel counter/shield has been shaved down and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s aiming to be a lighter/simpler shoe than before to get even closer to the pre-Rose 5 profile. The 7’s lacing setup is incredible in how it integrates with the dynamic overlays, and to me the shoe in general has taken the most extreme measures to perform in every regard, but it’s probably more complicated than it has to be.

I actually like that they closed off the forefoot Boost on the 8 to possibly make it more responsive and more importantly stable. I personally find forefoot a bit loose on the 7 at times. Of course when people read “Boost” the expectations are immediately aiming for impact protection, but I thought the 7 properly re-purposed the Boost for articulation and transition. The line was always meant to be quick and the 6 is where I think it lost its identity at a moment to retry and reinvent itself. Hopefully the 8 is a careful and proper upgrade all around, but for the first time I’m finding a Rose shoe ugly — if these surely are the 8 and not some takedown model.

  7. it’s kind of sad that rose, formerly one of the most explosive athletes in sports, now has to wear such bulky looking tank-like shoes, i think the rose line was incredible up to the rose 5 (rose 3 was a bit ho-hum though), the rose 7 is okay but i’d take any of the other boost shoes in adidas’ basketball line over it….then again, the rose line doesn’t cater to people like me anymore

  8. Hopefully these fit better out of the box and are breathable. Those were my only complaints about the 7.
