adidas Crazy Explosive Low ‘Arthur Ashe’ – Thank You, Ricky Rubio

Sometimes, if you look hard enough, you find little hidden gems on Instagram Story. Take this image, for example, sent to us by a follower. That is Ricky Rubio getting ready for shoot-around before playing the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rubio has been an adidas athlete for the last few years and this comes with perks, as it should — one of which would be getting the Arthur Ashe colorway of the Crazy Explosive Low before anyone else has seen it, at least publicly.

The really important question we have to ask, from a hooper and sneakerhead point of view, is: when can we get the Arthur Ashe colorway of the Crazy Explosive Low? Clean white upper backed by the striped fabric interior and lace loops is a yes in my book.

After the response to the ‘Arthur Ashe’ versions of the Harden and Dame 3, these have to see retail, right?

  1. Still ugly in my view – the setup placement of the lace loops is the most obvious thing that sticks out to me, just doesn’t look right with so few lace loops.

  2. The crazy explosive low drops on Feb. 22nd on footlockers release calendar. In a gray and white colorway, which might be the arthur ashe colorway

    1. This might be weird but you could try what some customizers do on the ultraboost. They either use the lace tips and force it through the material or they use a soldering iron to make holes.

  3. They look SO WIDE…what’s the point of making such high performance shoes with an extra wide base? they look so wide as to be distracting/clumsy. too bad. was looking forward to the cushion.

  4. This sh*t is ugly. As a low, the minimal lace loops make them look funny. Stick with high Primeknit and release more colors….And at Continental dammit. lol

    1. The boost is the difference. CLB16 and Rose 7 is firm especially at the forefoot. The Harden 1 are firm all around. The Explosives are bouncy and cushy almost UB like. But even when boost is firm IMO it feels better than any foam cushion out there maybe except bounce and blackfoam (the stuff on JC2).. JC3 foam is not bad either too bad they encapsulated it.
