adidas adiZero Crazy Light 3 – Tech Specs

After we saw the first look at the upcoming adidas adiZero Crazy Light 3, many were discussing potential tech specs.

BOOST was the focal point and unfortunately, the most comfortable cushion system from the brand does not look to make an appearance. Retail price will be $140 and they will be made available this August.

  1. not impressed. no breakthru innovation at all. adidas needs to step up its game, lately all its shoes have been reusing or using the same technology and only small revamps – dwight lite 2 = rose 3.5 + crazy quick, rose 3.5 = rose 3 + diff upper. compared to nike and jordan, adidas is slipping, and slipping fast.

get to work adidas! at least add boost!

    1. How are they slipping compared to Nike? What breakthrough technology in basketball has nike come up with recently. Nike does the exact same thing as adidas. They use Air or Lunar in basically every basketball shoe, and all the uppers are hyperfuse. The only difference is they market their shoes more effectively

      1. Recently? In the last 1-ish year? Dynamic flywire, engineered mesh on the Kobe, caged zoom or whatever it’s called on the xx8, the flight plate on the xx8, max zoom air in the Lebron…

    2. I still don’t understand your point, Adidas is doing good this season and the next season is probably gonna be way better with the new Pure Motion and the retro of Feet You Wear shoes. Again, if it is not broken, don’t fix it. Nike also have a lot of similar design with the Hyper-line and the Lebron X low is similar to the IX low as well. I agree that most Adidas shoes don’t stand out that much now but they are functional while you only care about the design. And don’t talk about Dwight shoes for now, we need to wait at least 1 more year to see a decent model for him if this continues :(.
Also it is weird that people can’t see the change in the CL 3,the collar is definitely different which I love. The upper doesn’t change that much but I like every change they make for a more form-fitting pair of shoes. Wavebone traction is even better than herringbone for me since I have the Commander LT
@Dominic: Isn’t Kick off court from a different guy? And how can you say that they only change the traction?

    3. nike has done nothing innovative in bball in a long time. all they do now is take what they already have and combine it all together. “hyperlunarchaos” and crap like that. They take everything and smush it together into one shoe time after time again. The lunarlon soles are so hard and not forgiving at all. How many different things can they put flywire on. They are not breaking down any new walls. staying safe with what they have and riding the coattails of KD KB24 and LBJ.

Plus. You dont know what your are saying. The Rose 3 and 3.5 have NO similarities to the crazy quick. Different everything.

  2. No boost. ..no highlight of the foam or cushioning system…which I believe adidas lacks. I like the “Wavebone” traction…think they needed more flex grooves like their other shoe that’s coming out. (Internal Competition) So.. all that weight shedding and even taking bits of rubber out of the bottom and they ADD MI COACH? No need for that. Looks good though. Lockdown better, don’t know how the weight is reduced with mi coach, beefed up tobgue, cushioning and construction. Aerodynamic thing taken from golf is cool…but how much can shoe aero help? Prius shoes with co-efficient drag numbers? What next? Might try these out. Feel and cushion will be the key. Usually the more the lighten a shoe the more uncomfortable it becomes.

  3. $140 bit much for lightening and creating less of a shoe. Damn Mi Coach…get rid of this tech. Oooh..I took 11, 536 steps today!

  4. Yeah the only thing they really made substantial changes to is the traction, they should have definetly added boost. But on and unrelated topic, nightwing how come you haven’t posted anything on kicks off court in while?

  5. Boost was really the deal breaker for most of us, this shoe would be so much more successful if they integrated boost. I for one a pervious owner of the CL 1 and 2, will not buying this.

  6. I pretty much guessed that Boost wouldn’t debut on this. I was thinking for one of the premier lines, like the D.Rose 4.

  7. More like Nike’s Hyperfuse and no Boost. What a complete RIPOFF. Not worthy of $140 . I’ll prefer the Hyperdsruptor. For the real Hyperfuse and Nike Zoom, also for the $130 price tag.

  8. i heard nike has the lowest margin in the shoe industry, which means adidas with their relatively lower price makes more % margin than nike.

however, i dont think crzy lights should be the model to look for innovation. what kills me is what adidas did with ROSe models wtf, drose deserves better innovation.

  9. Adidas won’t put BOOST into its other shoes until next year. It’s solely for running shoes for now.

  10. I’am getting this despite not having BOOST™ technology in it. BOOST™ technology is for running shoes only until 2014 so don’t expect this shoe having BOOST™ technology.

  12. Nightwing, Will these last outdoors? I normally play outdoors, so it would really help if these shoes would last. thank you!

  13. why does my crazy light 3’s on the upper left (left foot,up view) adizero
font slightly faded on the er part those are just 3 wks and i play with them (my pair is original)
